Home Invasion Defense Course
NRA Personal Protection In The Home is an excellent course for adults regardless of whether they carry a concealed handgun or not. This course covers ways to make your home less inviting to criminals, responding to a home invasion, safe room concepts, safe room drills for the entire family, using a handgun in your home as a last resort, calling the police, the aftermath of a defensive shooting in your home, physiological, psychological and emotional effects and other important information.
This course is 5 to 6 hours in the classroom plus 3 to 4 hours on the range which is scheduled on a subsequent day. We will be offering this course again in 2012 through several configurations including weekday, 2 weekday evenings and on weekends starting in late March or early April. Students must have completed an acceptable basic handgun course prior to taking this home invasion defense course. Beginners may find that our NRA First Steps Pistol class is a good fit for this purpose and we offer a special bundled price.

Please note that we require our 201-UT+CO and 201-CO Concealed Carry students to complete both the classroom and range sessions. Students with a valid concealed handgun permit from their home state and prior handgun shooting experience may complete the 201-UT course without attending a range session if they are only adding the Utah permit. The Live-Fire Qualification (LFQ) range session, which is intended for students with prior handgun shooting experience, is included in the 201-UT+CO and 201-CO course tuition. Students have the option to upgrade their range session to our 4-hour, 202 Introduction to Defensive Handgun course for an additional $99 which is discounted from the $149 tuition for the standalone 202-IDH course. Both the LFQ and 202-IDH range sessions have a $20 range fee which is not included in the course tuition. To register, click on the register button in the right column of this page or here. |
